Every day millions of people shop at Walmart and Target and use the self-checkout lanes which saves Walmart and Target millions of dollars of payroll and other expenses as they do not have to support all of the cashier lanes they have in their stores. Since they do not man these lanes for people to check out they usually have long lines and it is very slow to shop at their stores. This has somewhat improved with the introduction of Self-Checkout lanes but this is mostly helping them save money. I think they should pass these savings onto customers since we are doing all of the bagging, price scanning and more. They should give people that use these self-checkout lanes a discount of 3-5% on their purchases and give something back to their customers.So while we help ourselves at the big box stores, they should help us.
