  • As a resident and legal voter of Walla Walla County and a supporter of the Constitution of The United States of America's (1789) Second Amendment which states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" as well as, a supporter of the Washington State Constitution, which clearly states in plain english in Article 1 Section 24 "the right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired", am signing this petition to recall Walla Walla County Sheriff Mark Crider, as allowable under the provisions of sections 33 and 34 of Article 1 of the Washington State Constitution, for violating the oath of Sheriff to support and defend both the U.S. Constitution and the Washington State Constitution. Walla Walla County Sheriff elect of 2018, Mark Crider, made a public statement which was published on February 1st, 2019, in the Union Bulletin newspaper that he and his department will enforce I-1639. I-1639 by further increasing age limits for purchases of firearms, implementing of additional fees and waits for receipt of purchase of arms, lengthening the wait for approval to bear arms, as well as, interfering with the ability to keep arms by defining ways to keep (store) arms in our private residences, clearly violates both Constitutions by impairing and infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Further evidence to support this petition's charge of violation of oath of office for enforcing I-I639 is the many statements of fellow Washington State County Sheriffs and other law enforcement officials citing their oath of office (when applicable) as to why they will not be enforcing I-1639 citing unconstitutionality and questionable lawfulness. These aforementioned statements were made at the time of the making of this petition by the following Sheriffs and law enforcement officials; Adams County Sheriff Kevin Morris, Benton County Sheriff Jerry Hatcher, Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond, Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott, Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer, Republic police chief Loren Culp, Stevens County Sheriff Brad Manke, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, Yakima County Sheriff Bob Udell, and Wahkiakum County Sheriff Mark Howie.

This petition supporting the recall of Mark Crider, Walla Walla County Sheriff, is signed by the person or persons making the charge, gives their respective post office addresses, and can be verified under oath that the person or persons believe the charge or charges to be true and have knowledge of the alleged facts upon which the stated grounds for recall are based, as required by sections 33 and 34 of the Washington State Constitution and as outlined in RCW 29A.56.110.
