I am a pharmacy technician at walgreens. I have severe asthma and an auto immune disease. I started a cough which worsened by day 3. Fever for 3 days. I was told by doctors at my local hospital to self quarantine. My small town is not doing testing on the COVID-19 virus since there are only so many tests available. Walgreens is only paying me 2 days of COVID-19 pto override until I'm tested positive then will pay out my full quarantine, but that doesn't help my situation. I'm 28 years old, live alone with rent and all utilities to be paid. I have no family for help. Walgreens hasn't sent or offered any protection gear to their employees. Gloves, sanitizer, masks ect. Our hours have been cut by 3 but us employees are still working the normal hours to help get caught up. We are still making the same pay rate and hours but struggling. We are constantly getting rude customers and fraught with daily. No one thinks of us as heroes as we are risking our health as well... just like myself who has caught symptoms by being around my patients and helping their demands. Now I want help with my demand through my employer.
