A woman’s period is something that comes naturally, and cannot be prevented. Tampons and pads are items that we use to help us through cycles, and prevents any leaks, stains, or discomfort. They are necessary to provide control for something we cannot control.

Since tampons are so expensive, this can be a big problem for women financially. I spent $6.99 on a box of regular sized tampons, since my flow gets lighter towards the end of my period. I spent $9.49 on a variety pack of super, super plus, and ultra sized tampons, since my flow is usually heavy during my period. Then a box of pads for $6.49. This is an example of how EXPENSIVE these products are. I spent a total of $22.97, for tampons and pads. For women that are in high school or in college, that is taking a big financial toll. It should not cost this much to manage a NATURAL, INEVITABLE CYCLE. Therefore, tampons should NOT be taxed as luxury items. 

Signing this petition will take us one step closer to removing this luxury tax, and save millions of women money, and provide more comfort and control for all women’s bodies. Help make a difference!
