Dear Mr. Keravuori,
I have heard you speak once at a town of Wake Forest planning meeting. I am contacting you sir because I am concerned about the current state of traffic in the morning and evening at the intersection of Coach Lantern Avenue and Forestville Road. It has become nearly impossible to exit our neighborhood at Stonegate during the hours of 7:15 am through 0930 a.m. and 2:30pm-630pm without risking your life. I am sure you are aware sir that the posted speed limit on this section of Forestville Road in 45 mph, a speed I feel is excessive. In addition, approaching Stonegate neighborhood also involves two rather dangerous curves in a very narrow section of Forestville road surrounded by ditches on both sides. This general area is becoming very highly populated with two growing neighborhoods on both sides (one of which is mine/ Stonegate). I feel as though our community (families and young teen drivers) are at risk trying to exit this neighborhood to head to school. As soon as one way is clear, it seems that the other has cars racing toward you at a high rate of speed. I am worried for our young student drivers and young families as we have seen an increase in residents and a population explosion in this area. Are there any plans sir to install a traffic light at this intersection? (it has become a four way roadway with the new neighborhood across the street from us). Additionally, with the plans revealed for two more highly populated neighborhoods (Kitchin Farms currently under construction/ as well as another across from Heritage High school) feeding these main artery of Forestville road, this will only add cars and make the current situation of exiting Stonegate worse. If not, what does the community need to do to gain the support of the town of Wake Forest? What can you do to help as the town of Wake Forest Planning engineer keep our families safe? Perhaps the town of Wake Forest would consider a stop light during school transportation hours at the end of Coach Lantern intersecting Forestville Road. Let us be proactive in keeping our kids and families SAFE here. Wake Forest is a great town!
I look forward to hearing from you sir.
