Residents of Wajir County have raised alarm over frequent power shortage and corruption in the company for four years without any positive change.

The MP of Wajir East traveled over 320km to Garissa to witness the loading of an electricity generator on a truck for delivery to the northern Kenya town. The delivery, which was to reach Wajir on 2018 but the dream never come true.

Wajir is among the hottest county with a high temperature that leads to high consumption of cold water. Locals have undergone a lot of challenges even during the month of Ramadan without getting a cold water to break the fast.

The area without access to electricity can find it hard to attract good teachers, as well as medical staff. It affects everything, from lack of light for school students to do their homework, to equipment available in schools.

Lets not politicize this matter and sign to this petition against the KPLC Managing Director Wajir Branch for has failed the locals and denied them there rights.
