Why this petition matters

Started by Mikaela Fuiava

My good friend Aaliyah Kaululaau was given two choices. She can stay at Waialua High & Intermediate doing online school and get her diploma, but not be able to walk for graduation. The second option is to transfer back to Waianae High School and walk for her graduation. The reason why she was given these choices because she was speaking FREELY on a public platform about how the dress code at our school (WHIS) wasn't fair for both genders. We had this senior contract that we had to sign, but on the contract there was nothing that said she couldn't speak freely about what she believes. The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Therefore I Mikaela Fuiava am making this petition so that my friend Aaliyah Kaululaau can come back to school and walk for her graduation.
