Joanna Taylor was a beautiful young 21 year old girl who passed in a tragic accident two days before Christmas of 2016. Joanna was travelling to South Australia with her fiance and a business associate at the time of the accident that occured 40kms after Balladonia Roadhouse, on the Eyre Highway. The driver was an L plater who fled the scene once he saw Joanna lying on the road. Police conducted ariel searches for the driver who was eventually found, treated for any injuries, interviewed and then permitted to travel across the boarder back to South Australia.  He then failed to appear at 2 court hearings sending a letter in of a guily plee. No resepct to front up to court and face these charges. A warrent was then issued for his arrest and eventually he was located and extradited back to Western Australia to face charges.

On the 18th July 2018 this man was given a meer $2500 fine and sent on his way. Not an apology with any meaning was given for his actions and no remorse shown at all.

This is devastating for the family of Joanna and for the community. Careless driving causing death can be up to $36,000 fine and jail time, yet all he received was a $2500 fine.

We want to see more done in this matter, we want the police to appeal this decision as nobody's life is worth as little as $2500 and its important that this young man and the greater public know this behaviour is NOT ACCEPTABLE EVER! Lets make an example out of this to ensure people know that you need to be made accountable for your actions and this man needs to be held accountable for his.
