Due to the Omicron variant, students lost a week of school, causing Diploma exams to be cancelled. We students believe that it is unfair that we still have to write finals considering this shortened timeline. We feel it is unfair that we should write finals while many other schools in the city have cancelled their final exams. We believe there is still too much curriculum to learn and not enough time to cover it before final exams. The Covid-19 pandemic has taken a serious toll on the mental health of students, and finals exams only dump more stress onto an already stressful situation. If a student were to catch covid, they would be out of school long enough to most miss a large part of learning in the last week or two, leaving them unprepared to take finals.
