A short message from engineering students to VTU and AICTE

Being the students in the third semester of bachelor of engineering, we find it very difficult to cope up with online classes and offline exams. Since the exams are schedules to be way too soon, we are forced to attend the college in this pandemic times. The students who attend classes are turning out Covid positive and it's scary to attend classes now. But the exam schedule isn't allowing us to stay home and our colleges are making it mandatory to attend classes. We are stuck between our health and our career. We don't ask you to promote us but we do ask you to postpone our exams until March/April, hoping we would get some time cope up with the subjects. Offline exams would only ruin our marks and career it would be a threat with the treat to our health. We are forced to attend offline classes as we need to complete labs which require dealing with equipment and also classes since we have not been able to follow online classes completely due to various issues. We aren't machines and neither are our subjects/labs easy to understand and something to cope up with. Additionally, we have also been informed that the lab internals would be held in the December end and the externals would start from January end. This caused a panic in us as we didn't even have a single lab session in a particular subject and though we had lab sessions in the remaining subject we couldn't follow properly as online was not a flexible platform for lab conduction.

Also since the commencement of the first years happens after May, We think it would be great if you do exams after March/April, giving us a little time. Postponing the practical exams for now. Requesting VTU to consider this and not force us to go to colleges keeping our marks and health at stake. I hope you consider our matter as soon as possible. Requesting you to please postpone our exams and give us time.
