Keep the Alaska Airbus Pilots on PBS bidding system

Switching to the line bidding system will have a negative impact on the Airbus pilots' quality of life. As the majority of the Airbus pilots are commuters, the line bidding system will increase the number of commutes required per month. It will also limit the number of days off between commutes. This will cause a major disruption to the lives of the 800+ Airbus pilots and their families.

The Airbus pilots would like to stay on the current PBS system until a replacement bidding system of equivalent or better standard is negotiated.  We are asking the VRD MEC, the AS MEC and the Company to stop the transition to the line bidding and keep us on PBS while negotiating improvements. This will ensure the Airbus pilots don't take a concession due to the merger. This action will promote a happier work environment while not impacting our Boeing counterparts. It will also create a better environment for merging the two pilot groups and reinforce unity.
