The crony connected, lack of vision in our top elected leadership contributing to the decline of our City supports Rosemary Wilson filling the Vice Mayor seat. In a recent VBCC race she ran as an incumbent in a race against Councilman Guy Tower and LOST that race. In that race, Wilson was running for the Beach District seat while still seated on the At-Large seat...which was a blatant attempt to steal the peoples vote for who represents the public elected official voice on City Council as no doubt a hand picked crony working for private interest would have filled the seat she vacated (an At-Large seat) had she won the Beach District seat. Crony shell games like this attempt to highjack our public vote and are leading to crony bad management of our City as decisions are made for private crony interest and not in the public taxpayers interest who are experiencing increased liability as poor decisions are being made now that will impact our financial responsibility with issues such as  overdevelopment and wetlands development contributing to increased flooding... and a police state" reputation that taxpayers ultimately have to pay to fix as we lose tourist revenue.

Virginia Beach has landed in the national press for negative reasons many times during Mayor Dyers term, one of Wilsons supporters...(the same folks who support Wilson are part of the team that backed Dyer)...under this crony gangs watch, we have made negative national headlines with events such as Floatopia, the May Massacre, the Red Truck Rampage down Atlantic Ave targeting peaceful protestors in the wake of the George Floyd murder...and last April, the police shooting of Pharrell Williams innocent cousin Donovon Lynch on Pacific Ave...that went undocumented by  video or camera even though over 5 thousand people were listening in on the police scanner at the time of the shooting...which begs to question, why weren't police cameras activated on what was already an exceedingly active night that even had the public observing in larger numbers than usual...and the police shooting took place next to a public parking lot that has seen more gun activity than anywhere else in Virginia Beach, the largest City in Virginia, since Mayor Dyer took his seat. Rosemary Wilson is part of this problem not a part of the solution.

Rosemary Wilson, having served for decades, will just keep us chained to our crony connected past...her leadership is in part why we are in such a depressed place in Virginia Beach...she's afraid to embrace our future...for example, she apparently left town during Something In The Water...and allegedly told her friends to leave town too! Iif she can't handle the largest, most financially successful, diverse cultural music festival in the history of Virginia Beach, she definitely can't handle being our new Vice Mayor.

Let City Council know how you feel, email them, or show up to speak in person at VBCC on Tuesday September 7th and let them know you support Councilman Aaron Rouse to be our next Vice Mayor!
