IL-17 Congressional District which includes Rockford, Freeport, Rock Island, Moline and Freeport will be an open seat in 2022. We need a US Rep with a proven track record of advocating for economic justice for diverse working families who are struggling to get ahead. Former IL state representative Dr. Litesa E. Wallace served Rockford with energy, vision and moral conscience from 2014-2019. 

Dr. Wallace wrote, introduced and passed over 40 resolutions and bills. She served as chair of the IL House Economic Justice and Equity Committee. Dr. Wallace co-sponsored the River's Edge Tax Credit which stimulated local economic growth and investment in our river towns. As a single mother, she knows child care is obstacle for working families which is why she sponsored and passed restoration of the Child Care Assistance Program for working families in Illinois. As the daughter of a police officer, she understands when communities trust police, everyone is safer which is why she sponsored protections for non-citizen victims of violent crimes who cooperate with police. Dr. Wallace has a proven record of legislating and working for working families in Illinois.
