"Assemblyman John Burzichelli introducted a bill modeled on the Death with Dignity Act legislation of Oregon and Washington. It is doctor-assisted suicide, NOT euthanasia. As a humane society we do not force animals to suffer an agonizing death. Why should we not be given the option of having that same right if that is our personal choice?"

I believe that each person has the right to control their own life up to, and including, their death. Assembly bill A3328 will put comfort and control into the hands of terminally ill adults during a time when much of their life is painful and out of their control, as well as give them dignity and peace of mind during their final days with their families and loved ones. These are very intimate personal choices that should remain in the hands of the individual, not the government.
