We serve young women like Jen*, a 17-year old girl who was first forced into the commercial sex industry at age 12. When law enforcement identified her during a late-night hotel sting, they called our staff who responded immediately and provided food, clothing, and emotional support. We reunited her with her family, her trafficker was sentenced to prison, and she is now enrolled in school.
In 2008, the DC Trafficking Intervention Program:
* Conducted prevention workshops for over 300 girls in the DC area.
* Provided survivors with 777 nights of shelter through our Transitional Housing Program.
* Launched a Job Training Program to equip survivors with the practical skills necessary to gain employment in order to support themselves and their families.
