Anchor dealership, currently 13 acres in size is looking to expand to over 22 acres. Most dealerships in RI are under 6 acres.
We strongly believe this expansion will negatively affect the quality of life for many. A dealership this size will cause extreme traffic on RT 146, Sayles Hill Rd. and Iron Mine Rd. Increased traffic will pose a safety threat to our children who frequently walk, run and bicycle on the narrow, winding roads with no sidewalks. Once woodland is replaced with asphalt and towering lights, the variety of wildlife currently inhabiting this forested area will be dislodged.
We have chosen to make our homes here because of the rural character, peace and quiet North Smithfield has to offer. How can this massive dealership be seen as supportive or consistent with our residential neighborhood?
We are very close to stopping the continuance of this expansion, and ask your support.
