Confirmed victory

The result of this new plan would have extreme negative impacts on local water resources, the environment, traffic congestion, available municipal services and the overall quality of life in our community.

Letter to
Hopewell Township Committee and Planning Board
The Friends of Marshall's Corner (FoMC) are residents of Hopewell Valley who have serious concerns about the Township Committee’s proposed plan to redevelop the 25 acres known as Pennytown combined with 76 acres adjacent to Marshall’s Corner.

Currently under consideration by the Hopewell Township Committee is a plan to build a new complex, which would include 365+ new residences and 15,000 square feet of commercial space. When the Pennytown site was purchased by the township, the intent was a hamlet-style village for 70 affordable housing units, yet now the redevelopment plan has ballooned far beyond what is sustainable for that area.

After seeking counsel from professional experts, the FoMC finds this redevelopment plan unacceptable. The result of this new plan would have extreme negative impacts on local water resources, the environment, traffic congestion, available municipal services and the overall quality of life in our community.

We, the undersigned, demand that the Hopewell Township Committee vote NO on the Pennytown/Marshall’s Corner Redevelopment Plan on March 25, 2013 and that the Planning Board also vote NO on the plan on March 28, 2013.
