Stop title sexism! Abolish Miss/Mrs titles, branding women based on marriage #titlequality

Why are we still explicitly sexist in the UK in the year 2017?
When a man goes into a bank, or books a holiday, or orders something online, is he asked if he is married? Is he defined by his marital status? Of course not!
When I do any of these things, as a woman, the first thing I'm asked is for my title. This question is actually asking whether or not I am married, and then the answer to this question is supposed to come before my name.
Is it Miss or Mrs?
Can you believe that we are still treating women as if their worth is different if they are married? Is this the message to give our children and young people?
If I apply for a job, the prospective employer is allowed to know if I am married. The same is not true for a man.
We are centuries out of date and this needs to stop. Now.
The aim of this petition: to make it illegal to ask a woman if she is married or not by getting rid of 'Miss' and 'Mrs' options. This means that a woman's title will be just one option, Ms, which will be equivalent to having one option for men, Mr.
The reason that I am doing this? I'm a lecturer and former school teacher and I cannot believe that we are still teaching our children and young people that women should be defined based on their marital status. We need to change this together, now. I've THOUGHT about this for a long time and now I've decided to ACT. Please do the same!
