This bill states that lessons about sexual orientation are banned outright in the classroom. The conservatives who began organizing this bill more than a year ago claimed the bill would strengthen parental rights by preventing teachers and school staffers from withholding information about gender issues from parents.

Throughout our twelve-year education, we learn about many different cultures through history and English, so why should we strictly prohibit the teachings on LGBTQ+ issues? When it comes time for Congress to vote on this matter I will personally email each and every one of them and attach this petition to hopefully sway their decision. We at Polk County High School need to be on the right side of history.
