Please help the KAL YS-11 aircraft, which has continued its journey for the past 50 years, to arrive at the Kimpo International Airport as the final destination.

All passengers who board a commercial aircraft to travel and its crew members must get to their final destination. And aircraft hijacking must be defeated before tragedy strikes.

It is for everyone’s safety.

Therefore, the remaining 11 people from the KAL YS-11 hijacking committed by North Korea must be released pursuant to the international law and principles and arrive at the Kimpo International Airport. Please help them land at their final destination.

I am Hwang Won’s Jr (Hwang In-cheol). It happened when I was two years old. On December 11, 1969, Hwang Won, my father, who was 32 working as a TV producer of the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, went aboard the plane for a business trip, instead of his boss. 10 minutes after a take-off, the plane was hijacked by North Korea.

My father urged North Korea to send him back to his country South Korea in accordance with the international law as hijacking a commercial flight is one of the illegal and piracy activities. Furthermore, it is strictly prohibited by the international society. He was afraid, but sang a Korean song titled ‘Gagopa’ about yearning for home while hoping to go back home. Eventually, he was forcefully sent to an unknown place by North Korean soldiers.

In response to the international community’s request to release him, North Korea keeps saying my father wants to stay in North Korea because he likes the country. My family wants to hear from my father in person, not from the North Korean authorities.

I am sure my father still wants to meet his family.

In 2013, my father attempted to escape North Korea and come back home. But he could not make it. Since then, I have started to ask for help from the international community. Currently, the United Nations Human Rights Council is requesting North Korea to repatriate my father to South Korea.

Everyone who travels by a commercial aircraft must land at their final destination. Hence, the 11 returned Koreans from the KAL YS-11 hijacking incident must get to the Kimpo International Airport in accordance with the international law and principles. I appeal to you to join me and participate in this campaign.

여행을 가기 위하여 민간항공기를 이용하는 모든 승객들과 승무원은 목적지 공항에 안전하게 도착해야 합니다. 그리고 항공기 납치 사건은 완전히 근절되어야 합니다.

이것은 우리 모두의 안전을 위한것 입니다. 

그렇기에 아직도 북한의 납치에 의해 목적지인 김포공항에 도착 못한 승객과 승무원 11명이 알리고, 국제사회의 원칙과 질서에 따라 목적지인 김포 공항에 도착하여, 비행완료를 이룰 수 있도록 도와 주십시요!

저의 이름은 황원Jr(황인철)입니다. 제 나이 두 살 때인 지난 1969년 12월11일

저의 아버지 황원(당시32세 MBC PD)은 직장상사를 대신하여 출장을 가기 위하여 비행기를 탑승하였습니다. 그런데 저희 아버지가 탑승하신 비행기는 이륙 후 10분만에 북한으로 납치 당하였습니다.

저의 아버지 황원은 북한 당국자에게 민간항공기 불법 납치행위는 국제사회에서 엄하게 금하는 해적행위이기 때문에 국제법에 따라 본인의 본국인 대한민국으로 송환해 줄 것을 요구하였습니다. 두렵고 가족 없는 북한땅에서도 반드시 집으로 돌아가리라는 희망을 가지고, 집을 그리워하는 노래 ’가고파’를 부르다가 북한 군인들에 의하여 아무도 모르는 곳으로 끌려갔습니다.

지속적인 국제사회의 송환요구에 북한의 답변은 저의 아버지는 북한이 좋아서 북한에 머문다고 이야기합니다. 그러나, 저희 가족은 북한 당국의 답변이 아니라, 직접 아버지의 자유의사를 듣기를 원합니다.

저는 믿습니다. 저의 아버지는 아직도 가족을 만나길 원하십니다.

2013년 저의 아버지는 집으로 돌아가기 위하여 북한을 탈출하기 시도하였지만 불발이 되었고, 그날 이후로 저는 국제사회에 도움을 요청을 하였고, 유엔인권이사회는 지금 북한당국에게 저의 아버지의 본국 송환을 요구하고 있습니다.

민간비행기를 이용하는 모든 이들은 목적지 공항에 한 사람도 빠짐없이 도착해야 합니다. KAL납북 미귀환 11인이 국제사회의 원칙과 질서에 따라 목적지인 김포공항에 도착하여 비행완료를 할 수 있도록 이 캠페인에 동참하여 주십시요!
