'Our world is changing. So much progress has been made in the past 40 years and families are no longer in just one place. Families and friends are spread all over the globe. Whereas this is exciting and provides so many wonderful opportunities, in times like these, with a global pandemic sweeping the world, we do realize how lonely distance can feel. It is a natural need for us to want to create closeness and security in times of uncertainty and feeling scared. Many of us are faced with losing our jobs or reduced shifts, not quite sure how we will get through what could be months of this.

We're calling on mobile networks to provide free or low cost calling options so the world can stay connected. Making sure your loved ones are okay shouldn't be a matter of having to check your bank balance first. Many of us has parents and grandparents, or other family members not provided with a smartphone and Skype or FaceTime connections. Rural areas can get very bad service with very low or no connection. It would mean a peace of mind knowing I can reach my parents and family members any time of the day, making sure they are doing okay; without stressing about the cost of all the calls and connection issues.

We understand businesses are facing hard times too but we appeal to your empathy and kindness to help your customers through this. Your help will be remembered.
