KenyaSeva started this petition to Vladímir Vladímirovich Putin

13 days ago, on February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale military invasion into Ukraine; this was the start of the war on Ukraine by Russia- this has caused over hundreds civilian casualties and is pushing millions of Ukrainians to flee to neighbouring countries.

The Kenyan Government has not stated much in terms of the support to Ukraine. But as fellow Kenyans and human beings, let us come together in prayer for our brothers and sisters, our parents and children in Ukraine; WHY? it's the least we can do (see below) - as well as sign this petition and share it to reach as many possible to show we stand in solidarity with Ukraine and let President Putin know that his actions are against basic human rights- costing innocent lives, destruction of humanity and disintegration of a whole country; We can do this!

With each prayer and each share of this petition, let us Kenyans (or anyone else) send hope, love, hugs and prayers to those suffering in Ukraine, and let them know the sacrifices they are making are resonating in the world and we thank them for it- for standing brave against the attack.

We are all aware of the destruction as well as human rights violations ongoing in Ukraine; every human has a right to peace and a right to live without fear on this planet; President Putin took it upon himself to create an unimaginable catastrophe in the name of power not only in Ukraine but in the world. Some say his actions were necessary; there is no necessity that warrants the killing and suffering of innocent lives; at the end, the whole world may keep talking; the western world continues to make decisions on behalf of the rest of the planet.  As a Sky news reporter concluded correctly 'Ukraine is fighting for the world's freedom- our freedom- but we have left the dying to the Ukranians', including our fellow Russians.

I pray you all may join in the PRAYER FOR WORLD PEACE as follows:

- Pray at home- take a minute every morning and every evening to pray for an end to this war; pray for the Ukrainians' and Russians' safety; have a moment of silence for our fallen brothers and sisters and children; and for those on the frontline; Light a candle, a diva, have a rose or flower, a ribbon -anything- to remind us all to PRAY.

- At your places of worship - ask for special prayers for our suffering fellow human beings and pray for them; pray for their leaders to make decisions that stem from compassion, love, forgiveness, willingness to reconcile and see us all as one planet; Have a moment of silence in your prayer services for those who we have lost; and a moment to applaud our frontline soldiers;

- Introspect- we can pray for peace around us but this will not happen till we have peace within us- let us embrace forgiveness for those who we feel may have wronged us;  let us love more than we ever have; let us remember that bigger sufferings are around us whereas and not complain about the things that dont matter; let us be ever so thankful in our lives for the safety, for our families, for our countries, the army and for Mother Earth- we are here to share this beautiful Earth- not just gain from it for our selfish interests- Let go- leave some resources for others- give away some of what you have- and spread the light!

AS KENYANS, OR ANYONE ELSE, LET’S PRAY HARDER THAN EVER FOR THEM and may our cries and prayers be heard by our Creator who is The Giver of Peace, Forgiveness, Compassion and Love.

Whether you pray regularly or don’t, make the practice now- close your eyes and just feel what they must be feeling- and ask the Power of the Universe to help and end this war!

Whether it’s a church, mosque, temple or Gurudwara – ask them to take a moment and pray for the World, pray for Ukraine! It could be the Lord’s Prayer, a Dhua, a Gayatri Mantra, an Ardaas or Chaupai Sahib – anything- but let’s not ignore anymore the sufferings in our world- and remind ourselves to pray for others at all times- everyday.

SENDING LOVE TO UKRAINE- from Kenya!!
