Jeremy O’Brien started this petition to Viz Media and

(disclaimer: This is not asking to edit all editions of Dragon Ball, as the 3-in-one edition and VizBig editions are still uncensored)

Dear Viz Media, I implore you, please release an A-rated version of the Dragon Ball manga for a new generation of children to enjoy. Dragon Ball Z was given a A-rated release in 2006 and Dragon Ball should receive the same treatment, in all fairness. FUNimation has not even released an edited version of their dub on video and while children might enjoy reading and watching Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball does not have the same level of accessibility with younger kids.

I have loved the Dragon Ball series all of my life and I wish nothing more than for those younger than me to have the same appreciation I've held since my childhood.

As mentioned before, this is not to say to edit all versions of Dragon Ball, mainly just one edition, similar with Dragon Ball Z. This would open the doors for new readers to enjoy the whole series (excluding Dragon Ball Super), who deserve to know the whole story. As of now, only half of the whole series is accessible to children who have read Dragon Ball Z.

Of course, this would all come with Akira Toriyama's approval, and respect to him no matter what, but if an A rated Dragon Ball Z can be released and get by him, so can a A rated Dragon Ball. Again, this is not depriving older readers of the uncensored versions, as the 3-in-one and VizBig editions still exist. Thank you. I appreciate all you do Viz.
