Touch tours for Harry Potter studios
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Imagine you are on the Harry Potter Studio Tour, seeing how all the magic was made and looking at all of the wonderful props that were used in the films. Now, imagine that you have limited or no sight and cannot see any of these things. There are people who have never had any sight and therefore
have no concept of colour and experience the world differently through touch and sound, we are those people.
Put yourself in our shoes, describing something isn't the same as experiencing it. We understand this and believe we have a reasonable solution.
We would be extremely grateful if the Harry Potter Studios were to provide touch tours. We understand that some of the items on display are fragile, however we feel that solutions could be found.
This could include:
1. Specific times for touch tours. These could be monthly or just a few days in the year and with plenty of notice would bring in a lot of visually impaired people, who could bring along a friend or relative to help guide them.
2. Make and use replicas that are less fragile and sturdier to touch.
There are many visually impaired people out there who love Harry Potter and would benefit from the full Harry Potter experience.
It is disappointing for us that touch tours are not currently available and we feel that this could easily be changed.
