To the Office of the Provost,
As most recently signaled by today (February 9, 2018)’s revocation of the First-Year Honors Seminar, student voice in the Honors College has been silenced. In the past, we had benefited tremendously from the way the Honors program empowered us. The changes over the past two years, however, have significantly diminished the value of being an Honors student. We the undersigned Honors students have benefited tremendously from a program that truly respected student input; the Honors College’s current leadership fails to establish viable, productive channels for student influence and mutual respect. We seek a co-created solution between students, the Provost’s office, and the Honors College. Despite our fervent belief in what this program used to be, we can no longer recommend the Honors College in its current trajectory to prospective students.
