Why this petition matters

Started by Mark Anderton

The governor of Virginia has proposed eliminating the annual safety inspection for vehicles owned and operated in the state.  The Hampton Roads NAPA Autocare Council is a group of local independent auto repair facilities that conduct these inspections and see first hand the potentially dangerous conditions that are revealed. Many consider this annual ritual to be a nuisance but it is actually an opportunity to have your vehicle checked out by an experienced automotive professional for a very low fee. Driving in daily traffic is one of the riskiest activities we have on a daily basis.  Let's make sure the vehicle coming at you has good brakes, tires and other critical components.  Please sign our petition asking the Governor and legislature to keep this valuable program in operation.
