Fix Monument Avenue - Pull Down the Confederate Statues

In light of the horrific events in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, it is past time to acknowledge the legacy of hate and division that the Confederate statues on Monument Avenue represent.

The heritage these monuments speak to is a heritage of oppression, violence, and treason against the United States.

The strongest stance against the disgusting actions of the KKK and alt-right movement would be to show them, in no uncertain terms, that their methods of terror will result in the opposite of what they want.

Pull the statues down. Put them in the Museum of the Confederacy, or smash them into gravel. Turn their places into micro-parks or monuments honoring the Virginians who have truly helped to make America great.

But take a stand and show the world that Virginia is no place for hatred. Pull down the monuments.
