Virtual Learning days, or VLDs, we're created to help students make up for lost school days. Now VLDs are being used to add extra school days and give students more work. VLDs are being assigned on holidays, staff days, and other days that students would normally have off. This extra work is stressing out students because teachers may assign entire essays or presentations to do at home. It makes it especially difficult to complete these assignments when the technology malfunctions or students don't understand part of the assignment. Since the students are doing this work at home, they can't ask for their teacher's assistance. Middle school and High school students are being assigned more work than they need to be assigned. Because of this, students are more stressed and feel more pressure put on them. Schools are taking away from students free time and giving them more anxiety. If we get enough people to sign this petition, schools may take action in taking away virtual learning days since they are doing more harm than good.
