Move Robert E. Lee Statue to Arlington National Cemetery

Move Robert E. Lee Statue to Arlington National Cemetery

The Virginia State Supreme Court recently voted to remove the Robert E Lee statue from Richmond, Virginia. We are petitioning that this statue be relocated to Arlington House in Arlington National Cemetery.
Arlington house is the formal home of Robert E Lee. Many people including formal presidents have argued that Confederate flags and Confederate statues belong in museums and cemeteries.
In 1955, Congress established Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial in honor of his military career prior to 1861 and efforts “to the reuniting of the Nation” after Appomattox.
Many people have argued and debated the existence of the statute in Richmond, Virginia for years. Many people say it's a symbol of history others say it's a symbol of racism.
Regardless to your position on the existence of the statue it deserves a new home. Relocating the statue to an existing museum and cemetery. Would be appropriate and preserve history.
That is why we are petitioning today. That the Richmond statue be relocated to Arlington House.
