Yes, we all know that lane splitting is a controversial topic in todays traffic laws but, we as motorcyclists would love to have the ability to go in between lanes while in traffic/ and or in normal everyday commuting. Lane splitting has a very common misunderstanding as with non motorcyclist they believe that this action is considered  "Reckless" which is completely wrong. For example, lets say that there is a crash and drivers have to slam on their brakes hard, if a motorcycle slammed their brakes as well they may end up falling/flipping over, so if lane splitting became legal then if that same situation happens they can instead go in-between vehicles and then slow down safely. I along with many people believe that this will impact in a positive manner all those statistics of motorcycles crashing, by allowing motorcycles to not overheat while sitting in traffic, help avoid crashes and be able to stay visible in drivers mirrors.
