Clean Up Flushing, NY

The streets of Flushing, NY are filled with litter and debris for as long as I can remember. There seems to be none to very little action taking place to clean up the streets. On Main Street alone there is a hospital, public park, botanical garden, library, and train station located and outlined with trash. It's unfortunate that Flushing and the Queens area seems to be left out in the environmentally progressive programs of NYC.
To have more organizations and departments come forth and invest & volunteer in cleaning up the city would be a step in ridding Flushing of waste; it is not doable to clean up this city alone, and Flushing needs core groups to start taking care of it. To also have more contained trash bins and dumpsters (so litter doesn't blow out of them) would also be a step- I'm finding that a large amount is debris from improperly contained trash bins.; an example would be the large amount of rubber gloves from the hospital found on sidewalks.
I'm calling upon Vincent Sapienza of NYC Environmental Protection to use his position to assign more jobs to clean up Flushing, & to shed a light on this city's waste problem.
