SAVE THE SOUTH LONG PARK IN WILLIAMSVILLE

MOVE THE GRASS? Why do we need to move South Long Park? Growing up Williamsville was always a quiet, small, historical village that people, old and young, could walk, ride, jog and play in without worry and having to SEARCH for a place to enjoy the outside. You could walk down historic Main Street and not worry about getting run over. Now it has become a small metropolis and South Long Park is just one small area of green left for people to enjoy. Surrounding neighborhood kids could WALK to the park to play ball, street hockey, football or just to hang out with friends. I don't live in Williamsville any longer but from photos it appears the park has already been made smaller than it used to be and I would imagine moving it will reduce the size again. People should not have to search for green grass to enjoy, and the buildings should not over shadow the trees. Williamsville holds memories for so many of my friends and family and so many of those memories have been paved over or over crowded out. Don't let South Long Park be one of those "paved over" memories that has to be remembered in photos. Let new memores be made with our children in that same park.
