Do not connect Lillian Dell Ravine to Lake Bluff Beach
Do not connect Lillian Dell Ravine to Lake Bluff Beach
Why this petition matters
The Village of Lake Bluff Board of Trustees would like to create a public pathway connecting the Lillian Dell Ravine to the Lake Bluff beach.
The Village does not own part of the land necessary to create this path. In order to complete this path, the Village Board would need a permanent easement from 665 Maple and/or 718 Mountain Ave.
We as neighbors, either along the Lillian Dell ravine or neighbors in close proximity to the Lillian Dell Ravine entrance, (Maple and North Ave) do not wish for this to occur.
It is our opinion that such a pathway would create additional unwanted and often inappropriate evening activities in the Lillian Dell Ravine.
The Lillian Dell Ravine is already an attractive nuisance that creates an unnecessary liability to the Village and security risk to adjacent homeowners. Property owners in the area already experience unwanted traffic, noise, vandalism, and trespassing. There have been hundreds of police reports from the Lillian Dells over the last few years. Developing a connection to the Lake Bluff beach will increase both the undesired activities and liabilities.
