Bringing D.A.R.E back into Briarcliff School District

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Hi Briarcliff Residents,  We created this petition to help us get the Village of Briarcliff to send an officer from the Briarcliff Manor Police Department to get trained in D.A.R.E.

The fee for an officer training is around $700 to $1,000.00 and it is about an 80 hour training.  The officer that was previously trained and taught D.A.R.E in Briarcliff Schools has since retired and there has not been an officer to replace him.

Retired officers are allowed to participate in this program as well, especially if there are no current police officers that are interested in participating in this program.

(The next training in our area is around January 2017)

If you would like to have D.A.R.E. come to the Briarcliff School District please sign the petition.  First, there must be an officer trained from the Briarcliff Police Department ( or retired) and then the Briarcliff Manor School District must agree to have D.A.R.E taught in the schools. Currently the districts around us have this program ex. Ossining and Mt. Pleasant.

There are certain fees that are associated with this program. At minimum the cost per child is $2.00 to purchase the book.  This fee can either be paid for by the school district or possibly a sponsor or donations.

We feel that educating our children on the dangers of drugs and alcohol so that they can make informed decisions is the best thing that we can do for our children and our community.

Thank You. - D.A.R.E Committee
