A sizeable section of the gaming community along with casual players are limited to certain games. Not an age restriction, nor game mechanics, it is instead motion sickness.

Have you ever felt tension at the very moment a camera spins? Have you proceeded to try again, only for your head to begin throbbing? Maybe you tried again and again, or even switched to similar games, only to be met with disappointment.

Perhaps, you have never experienced any of those. You are able to download and enjoy games without these obstacles, you can simply sit down and be immersed with the screen. Yet, in a multiplayer game, you desire to play with a good friend of yours only to hear that they aren’t able to play it. You ask why; they respond that it makes them feel too sick.

So you think. You know there’s a setting called motion blur. Most likely you could just turn it off, and you either try yourself or ask your friend to. It works. The problem is solved, and everything is okay — until it isn’t.

The motion blur is turned off, but something about the speed the camera turns, and how things just seem so smooth, too smooth, it is nothing but dizzying. However, the motion blur is turned off, so it couldn’t be, but it is.

It’s just rather unfortunate that some games still choose to have those additions to movements in game. I understand, it makes it smoother. After all, most others prefer that, they prefer a game where they feel looks best, and even us, we do too. However, they are able to play the game with those options. We cannot. Not even a choppy, reduced sight. We have nothing at all.

There are many wonderful games and developers out there. In fact, none of this is a criticism towards those who add motion blur and those who appreciate it. Simply put, I just wish there was an option to run the game without any of those effects.

There is a chance I may be asking for too much. There is a chance that very few agree with me, that I am the only one here, standing alone for a cause that no one cares about. If by chance there is solidarity, I am grateful for your support.
