Thank you to everyone who has signed our petition, and for all of the love and support; for reaching out and for sharing with friends and family, sharing your similar experiences, and sharing home school curriculum advice and community programs to replace the programs Kaley will be missing at school. We could not have gotten through this transition without all of you and we are so grateful.

At this point, we are declaring victory. God answers prayers in mysterious ways, and from this experience, I believe God's message is that he has bigger plans for Kaley; plans to have her grow into a person who models behavior that is opposite the behavior that has been modeled for her by the parents and administration at St. Patrick School; plans to demonstrate acting with integrity, manners, and having respect for others; plans to stay true to herself and demonstrate Christian morals; plans to include everyone and to always "love her neighbor."

St. Patrick School is no longer a school we have pride in. Sending our daughter there would not be "victory" for us. Through this experience, we are saddened to have been faced with reality in this flawed world: money can get you whatever you want, it's true; it does not matter who is right and who is wrong; who is morally correct and honest or who is acting out of greed and with malicious intent, as long as you are a part of a system that relies on "money," whoever is throwing money at that system is the one who has the power and who makes the choices, whether those choices are right or wrong. Money can buy you that big house to entertain whoever you'd like, it can buy you "friends," it can buy you status, it can buy you influence; it can buy you power. If you don't like someone, money can make that person go away. Money can buy an awesome lawyer; money can scare people into making decisions they know in their heart are not right. Money = power.

I made the choice, a while back, that I wanted to be as involved as I possibly could in my daughter's early years. While I could have invested my time in medical or law school and working long hours away from my family to earn myself some of that "power," I decided my daughter's early years were more important to me. There is nobody more suitable than a parent at raising her own child; and there is nobody better than yourself who is able to demonstrate the morals you want to instill in your children.

So to the "powerful" individuals who have hurt our family immensely throughout the last year; to each their own. I continue to pray for you. I am proud of myself for the choices I have made; I do not care if I have have looked like a fool on social media; I do not care that those individuals who wanted to see my family go down are snickering to themselves, declaring their own "victory" that my family is gone and will not be coming back to St. Patrick School. I can fall asleep at night knowing in my heart I've done all I can do to protect and stand up for my daughter, and I have a peace within me that says I've done the right thing, as a mom.

Instead of throwing $6,000/year at a school that has proven not to be able to protect my daughter from these harsh/hurtful realities, we are going to be investing in cooking lessons, one-on-one Spanish classes, more dance classes, tumbling, private art lessons, horseback riding, a library full of awesome Christian curriculum, agility classes for our Golden Retriever, and a network of Christian homeschool families with similar morals to our own. Kaley gets more and more excited every day!

To each of you who have reached out asking me why I continue to throw my money at this school and why I don't invest it elsewhere... thank you for helping open my eyes. We have clearly been in the wrong place for the last year; leaving the school is something we needed to do years ago. Thank you to everyone for helping us reach our "victory" and help us realize there are better things for us in life; we will move on and we will persevere.
