Victoria's arts and entertainment industry needs paid gigs. Gigs require planning and right now Victoria's State Government is preventing new conversations on innovative economic solutions to see artists, production crews, hospitality staff and related workers get paid work. The State Government is preventing local Councils from working with event organisers. The State Government's Minister's are not meeting with event organisers. We need to be in a position to host and hold these events as soon as it is safe to do so. Stopping conversations is stopping our arts, hospitality and related industries from getting paid work during this time and preventing them from earning income the day restrictions are lifted. We call upon the State Government to support local businesses, local sole traders and local artists by allowing conversations on innovative and safe ways to produce live entertainment in 2020 and beyond.
