We are becoming more and more like a police estate, our freedoms should not be dictated, if I want to breed a pedigree cat responsibly, where's the harm in doing so?

I had a 10mth old Selkirk Rex, that had to be put down with Dry CNS FIP and Syringomyelia after having him 4months... the life he led before that was in a concrete cage, not socialised, from a registered breeder that breeds for commodity and has sick lines because of this environment and unethical breeding practices causing illness...
The kitten cost $500.... the vet bills $6000.... I would never again even look at a breeder that kept their animals in these conditions.
The trauma of this event has scarred me watching my animal have to go through that at 10mths and have to be put down anyway! Disgusting!!!!

I'm signing because we need breeders of pedigree cats that care about cats and the blood line continuing and not backyard breeders that don't care about welfare of the animals.

I believe licenced pedigree cat breeders are essential. People who are prepared to research and pay for a pedigree cat are fare less likely to treat them badly or abandon them, which is a major contributing factor of the feral cat problem.

I have the most beautiful pedigree cat bred indoors by a registered breeder in Regional NSW. I believe his health, character and personality is due to him being bred at home and raised as part of the family until he was flown to me at 13wks.

Animals deserve to own and be loved by Registered and Responsible animal lovers. Legislation should protect animals from exploitation and empower those who responsibly love and care for them as well as ensuring the future of pure bred animals by restricting uncontrolled breeders and elliminating full scale farming of domestic class animals i.e. puppy and cat farms.

I am a registered breeder, breeding ethically. This bill will negatively impact my ability to continue with my plight .. breeding specifically for classic standard and excellent temperament.

The impact this would cause to small cat breeders would be devastating and have a terrible impact on our lovely purebred cats
