ضحايا الانهيار الجبلي في عبري

نتقدم، نحن الموقعين على هذه التعزية بخالص المواساة لأهالي العمَّال الـ 14 الذين قضوا في كارثة انهيار المحجر في ولاية عبري، عُمان بتاريخ 27 مارس/ آذار 2022. إننا في غاية الحزن والأسى، على ما آل إليه وضع الموارد البشرية والطبيعية في هذا البلد.  

وإننا إذ نشاطر أهالي المتوفين أحزانهم في فقد أحبابهم الشرفاء المكافحين والباحثين عن لقمة عيش كريمة؛ فإننا  ندعو الحكومة العُمانية إلى فتح تحقيق عاجل وشامل في ظروف هذه الحادثة المؤسفة، ومحاسبة كل من تسبب في خسارة هذه الأرواح البريئة، وتعويض أسرهم تعويضاً مجزياً، مع تقييم كامل لأوضاع العمال وظروف تشغيلهم ووضع كافة الضمانات اللازمة لسلامتهم وكرامتهم، وعدم تكرار ذلك في المستقبل.

Victims of Rock collapse in Ibri, Oman

We, the signatories, offer our sincere condolences to the families of the fourteen workers who died in the disaster of the collapse of the quarry in the Wilayat of Ibri, Oman on March 27, 2022. We are deeply saddened by the state of workers rights in this country. 

As we share the grief of the families of the deceased in the loss of their loved ones, the honorable struggle of those who were looking for a decent living; We call on the Omani government to open an urgent and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of this unfortunate incident, to hold all those who caused the loss of these innocent lives to be held accountable, and provide a fair compensation to the victims families. There is an urgent need to conduct a full assessment on the employment conditions of workers in Oman, and apply all necessary guarantees to their safety and dignity, to avoid a similar disaster in the future.
