Vicious Animal Mandates
Vicious Animal Mandates
Why this petition matters
To whom it may concern,
This petition is a call for action to the City and Village of Grafton, WI to increase mandates against vicious animals. A vicious animal is hereby described as one who has attacked another living creature, human or animal, on even one instance. A dog on First Avenue on one occasion almost attacked and on a second occasion did attack our Yorkshire terrier resulting in over 20 external stitches, one large internal stitch and a drain having to be placed. Furthermore, a golden retriever and it’s owner were attacked with the golden retriever heroically protecting it’s owner. Our neighbor’s yellow Labrador was attacked. A brown Labrador required stitches on its face from an attack on 10.15.22. An eyewitness on Walters saw the dog chase down a woman pushing a baby stroller. We are asking that the laws protect those who are unknowing victims and those unable to protect themselves. There should be muzzle orders or requirements to remain within a fenced in area, for example, after one attack on a living creature. Any subsequent attacks, the animal should be surrendered and discretion given to the Ozaukee Humane Society to determine next course for the animal. I have read this petition and my signature indicates I am in agreement of a dire need for increased legislation for myself and others, particularly children and animals who are at increased risk of harm. My signature stands as an urgent call for quick action in changing the laws and regulations to prevent further risk of harm, to include both physical and psychological harm.
