Calcutta University must revoke the new examination regulation

Calcutta University took a major change in its exam regulation stating that even if a student fails in any one of the pass subjects, (s)he will be considered fail and will face a year loss. Previously we had the provision of rewriting the exam in the next year. The students were made solely ignorant of this and it came to our notice when the results declared 57% students of the university as failed. Neither the unions nor much of the teachers were notified of this new regulation.

We, therefore, demand this rule to be revoked, unless it comes after a discussion with the students of the university. We also demand to make the process of paper checking transparent.
