Requesting the administration of EFLU Hyderabad to re-open offline classes.

Requesting the administration of EFLU Hyderabad to re-open offline classes.
To whomsoever it may concern.
It is with sincere hope, that we write to you, on behalf of the student fraternity of English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad to be given us the choice to opt for our preferred mode of classes, i.e., offline or online, with the commencement of classes after the mid-semester break, from 13th February, 2022.
We realise the need for precaution in these trying times and we understand the responsibility we behold as a society, to co-operate and follow the protocols to stop the spread of COVID - 19. If these three years have taught us anything, it is to embrace the fact that we have a challenge ahead of us. Since COVID has been declared as endemic, we realise that it is further essentially important for each one of us to adapt to this new lifestyle and learn to live with it. Staying at the comfort of our houses and losing out on the precious years of our colleges behind the screen, would hardly teach us to be adaptable to this situation.
We are aware of the fact that it might be difficult to maintain COVID protocols with limited spaces in the campus, which is why we would like to give suggestions from our own end :
a. The campus could be re-opened for those of us who find online education more difficult and for students who have to face challenges with the availability of network and resources.
b. The hostels could be re-opened with limited openings, in accordance with COVID protocols. The students can find their own accommodation if necessary.
c. A class representative can be appointed to help the faculty in conducting online and offline classes simultaneously, via Google Meet. For those opting for online classes, the questions can be communicated through the class representative and the resources could be shared online.
d. We understand that this would be a huge responsibility and therefore a council from amongst the students can be created to maintain COVID protocols on campus and to propose suggestions otherwise, for it to be followed diligently.
We hardly think that it would be impossible to follow these guidelines, especially in light of the fact that Telangana Schools and Universities are reopening from February 1, for offline classes, including Osmania University. Further educational institutes are reopening in different states including Maharashtra, despite the maximum number of Omicron cases.
We request the administration to understand that a large share of our campus life has been spent behind the screens. A University degree is hardly about the degree itself, and more about the experiences and opportunities that come with it. While the circumstances robbed us of our opportunity to learn and interact more with the able faculty of the university, we hope we are not stripped of our choice to make this decision for ourselves; to choose what kind of education suits us the best, and make the best out of it.
Since we have not been on campus, it has been particularly difficult for us to reach out to the administration. We would appreciate it if our suggestions are weighed in, while the administration comes to the appropriate decision that is best suited for our careers.
Warm Regards,
Students,
EFLU Hyderabad.
