As reported by the media, John Ka-chiu LEE will likely be the only candidate to run for the Hong Kong Chief Executive election. As Hongkongers, we doubt his ability, as his work experiences concern mainly law enforcement, instead of managing administrative matters related to policies, economics and finance, in which areas lie the city’s strengths. Also, judging from his actions and opinions in the past, we are afraid that he will focus on persecuting dissidents and further restricting the freedoms of Hongkongers, rather than promoting the well-being of our citizens. As such, he will not only be unable to resolve problems left behind by Carrie LAM, but also aggravate the mistrust, division and conflicts that have been accumulating since the social movements back in 2014. Under his rule, Hong Kong will, we regret to say, probably fall further from its status as an international city. For the sake of Hong Kong’s future, we strongly urge the Election Committee to veto this candidate.

Nous, comme les hongkongaise, doutons qu'il ait la capacité de se charger des problèmes économiques et des problèmes financières à cause de son expérience professionnelle. Nous aussi craignons que Monsieur Lee mette sur les dissidents/dissidentes et La loi sur la sécurité nationale de Hong Kong.
