The issue on whether Veterinary graduate should be allowed to undergo a one year internship and also a one year residency is long overdue. Thousands of Veterinary Doctors been inducted annually and yet no room for any of the above listed processes. 

Veterinary Medicine, like it's other counterpart ( Human Medicine and Pharmacy) should be given preference for her students to be able to go for Internship after graduation, before the one year mandatory youth service and afterwards, a one year residency. This isn't only all about the Money but the skill aquisition, the understanding of the oat we swore to and also to ensure that we move with the tides in other part of the world. We can't remain Here.

In Other countries such as United Kingdom, London , Edinburgh and so on,We  have Vets Internship and Residency and this has made the Veterinary profession look so different from what we practice here. (https://www.vetrecordjobs.com/jobs/residency-internship/

We, the Nigerian Veterinary graduate yearn for two things :

1. That a Meeting be conducted between the the representative of the Veterinary Graduates moving this notion and the  Representative of the Veterinary profession in Nigeria to really understand why this has not yet been implemented in our dear country.

2. All hands should be on deck to ensure that the Veterinary Internship and Residency is implemented and passed into law.

We will ensure our voices are heard all over the world until this is passed into law.

This petition is not Just for the Vets to sign. Every Human in this world knows the contribution of vets ranging from production of vaccines to research to inspection of meats to been incooprerated into the one health program and all. Please help us achieve this . TOGETHER WE CAN�
