Why this petition matters

Started by Fallen Ro

I have created this petition because the admin(s) of the https://www.skyscrapercity.com forum seem to not be interested in taking any action against the hate speech that is constantly being written in the Russian section of the forum.

Instead of taking action and removing the posts that spread hate or that applaud / instigate or even laugh at the violence caused by the Russian troops in Ukraine, the moderators simply tolerate it, while super moderating other sections of the forum, where people have their posts deleted just for questioning this policy.

In the 14 years I have been an active member of this forum, I have not seen anything like this: today I have had two posts removed in a matter of minutes, posts which contained no hate speech, no mocking, no rule breaking. Just questions about why different sections are treated differently. And there were a lot of other similar posts from other users which got removed too.

This is unbelievable and it shows that either the administration of the forum has no backbone or that the Russian moderators have such power / independence to allow the main rules of the forum to be broken and to get away with it, while keeping the rest of the forum under a much tighter rule.

So, because of this, I request Vertical Scope, the company that owns the forum and Jan, the administrator of the site to take measures immediately and: either eliminate the positive discrimination the Russian section has by replacing the entire moderating team of that section or to close down the entire Russian section completely.

The staff doesn't have to take any sides, just ensure that the entire forum follows the same set of rules and that the rules are respected.
