Dear Verizon Wireless: We understand you want to sell phones. Thats why you are in the industry you are in. You partner with app developers to have their apps preload your android based phones that the user may or may not want and you do not provide the user with the option to uninstall them. Google's latest verson of Android, named Ice Cream Sandwich (that is currently on less then 1% of the phones as of the writng of this pention) provides the user to "disable" them but they are still on the phone taking up precious space. The same issue revolves around preloaded bookmarks that are unremovable in the web app, though the main argument is apps. Another issue is there are many legitimate apps that you preload that may be great, but get poor reviews due to not being uninstallable and thus not being fair to the developer. Preinstalled apps, otherwise known as BLOATWARE slow down the phone, run unneeded services, take up storage space, drain battery life and provide unhappy customers. While you care about making that extra buck, remember with out us, YOU will not be in business. . Some may argue we should root our phones to remove the bloat but we shouldn't have to void our warenty if the carrier doesn't install them in the first place. Plus there are many non tech savy people out there who don't know about rooting or those who simply do not want to void their warenty or risk loosing informaiton. If you must install them with these apps, at least let the user uninstall them. I'm sure many wouldn't mind having these apps preinstalled if you give them the option to remove them. In the end you will have a happy custmorer. We need 10,000 signatures. I know we can do this. I've made the number large to make it a goal to get everyone we know to sign and to show the carriers we what we want. Bloatware is one of the main issues we as Android users face and rooting is not enough. We need a SAFE way to remove the bloat and why not start from the source?
