Recently a petition to ban pornography for cell phone use was passed in the state of Utah. I am wanting to begin to petition for a ban similar to it in my home state of Florida. I believe pornography is detrimental to the well being and mental health of most who will have an encounter with it. It is highly addictive, and causes stress and strain on healthy consensual sexual behavior whether in the confines of marriage or not. It is being poured into our schools at shocking rates, and our youth are sharing pornography with each other at younger and younger ages. Most pornography that is there to target on high trafficked web pages uses incesual, abusive, torturous content. It is often filled with rape and the clear motive to depict participants as unwilling or even trafficked. The benefits of banning the use of these pornographic images and video on cell phones would cut the access down drastically. This would help those underage, who typically couldn't reach this material on a family computer, unable to access it. Those with pornography addiction, would no longer be able to view in privacy, at any time or place, while trying to stay away. I also believe that trafficking and pornography go hand in hand. Cutting down on viewers that watch would likely deter those in the business of using trafficked victims in pornographic imagery. Please consider allowing me to begin this petition in my home state.
