Jerry Maf started this petition to Verizon

Comcast has had their fists clenched tightly around the wallets of the residents of Bayville/Berkeley for far too long. I have read numerous social media posts how individuals and families of our town have to struggle financially and had many connection issues and wished they had another option for cable and internet service, yet they are held hostage by the monopoly Comcast Xfinity holds in this town. The fact the prices seem to rise almost monthly is an atrocity. When you try to lower your bill by removing channels or lowering internet speeds, they charge you extra “service charges” or “fees” because you changed the “Bundle”, raising the price back upwards thus forcing you to stay where you are. Comcast knows the residents of Bayville/Berkeley have nowhere else to turn for service and will basically be forced to take whatever they have to offer. In these trying and troubling times of COVID, with children home doing virtual learning, more parents and individuals lucky enough to be employed and working from home, others having hours being cut, or worse, jobs being lost, we need another option. Not to just handle the larger strain on the bandwidth, and reading the many complaints of lost service proves this, but to more importantly offer the hard working and struggling residents of this wonderful town competition to bring the prices down and more accessible to all. Verizon  tells me they need at least requests from only 10 neighbors to consider bringing service to an area that does not have it. Join me in my quest to help bring another option to the people of Bayville/Berkeley. I live in the Pinewald Section off Wheaton Avenue and would love for my neighbors to help me. Please sign this petition so I can go to Verizon with a lot more than just 10 requests. Thank you and God bless. Stay safe.
