Reopen the Perth Arena PSP Cycle Path

This existing safe path behind Perth Arena should be reopened for cyclists and gazetted as a PSP in City of Perth's cycling network.
Formally closed under the premise of dangerous falling glass, the Principle Shared Path (PSP) for cyclists and pedestrians behind Perth Arena has been closed for several years.
Glazing works are now completed, however the management company AEG Ogden and the State asset manager VenuesWest are now determining whether there are operations requirements for this PSP that would prioritise the use of this state asset over the thousands of cyclist that would use this path.
Although not provided by the manager and operator, the use of this path appears only to be for the occasional easier access route for elevated work platforms - hardly justification for the ongoing imposition to the cycling community.
Reopening this PSP would reduce a number of unsafe interaction points between cars and cyclists on Market Street, and between pedestrians and cyclists on Wellington Street footpath. If you think this State asset is better used for cycling infrastructure to encourage and active lifestyle, please circulate and show your support.
