Sara Bueter started this petition to VCU and

Virginia Commonwealth University is robbing their students. With limited dorm space, poor meal plans, and closed facilities Michael Rao still plans to charge all incoming students full price for all expenses. With majority of classes being online, students are still getting charged library fees (the library is and will continue to be closed), in-class classroom fees, online classroom fees, etc,. During the Coronavirus pandemic these costs should be non-existent. The on-campus dorms will not be running at full potential, common areas will be prohibited and community bathrooms shouldn’t be an option, yet many students are still getting charged full price for these limited living options. The room & board cost should be cut in half. Dining plans should be free, given that most on-campus food will either be closed or have limited hours. Students are faced with these costs while also experiencing job loss, unemployment benefit cuts, eviction at home, and numerous other issues caused by COVID-19. VCU has shown little to no respect to their students who rock the black and gold wholeheartedly, the least that can be done is a tuition drop.
